Here’s a quick guide on the different types of retinoids we offer:
WHAT IS Retinol?
Retinol is one of the most common derivatives of vitamin A, and it has become the most sought-after ingredient to address signs of aging. We offer a range of retinol products that have been expertly formulated to provide visible results without irritating the skin. If you’re new to retinoids, start with our Intense Skin Repair Balm or Intensive Recovery Oil. If you’re an intermediate user, try our Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum, a multi-correctional product that targets multiple signs of aging.
WHAT IS Retinal?
Retinadehyde or Retinal is an encapsulated and ultra stabilized bio-active form of vitamin A. Retinal gradually and effectively converts to retinoic acid in the skin in one step, while retinol takes two steps. As Retinal requires fewer conversion steps, it better maintains its potency and is eleven times more effective than retinol. Non-irritating, retinal is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. More potent than retinol, retinal has strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It boosts and protects collagen, increases cell turnover and enhances barrier function. Our Retinal Night Cream is a powerful treatment for intermediate to advanced retinoid users.
WHAT IS Bio-Retinol?
Bio-Retinol a 100% natural-origin retinol crafted through biotechnology, and it’s the first of its kind to offer a sustainable alternative to synthetic retinol with similar anti-wrinkle efficacy. Both our Intense Renewal Eye Cream and Advanced Retinol Body Treatment Cream contain Bio-Retinol at a gentle but effective strength of 0.2%.
WHAT IS Bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is an extract from the seeds of the Babchi Plant, and it’s been used for centuries in Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine for its skin rejuvenating properties. Some studies have found it to be as effective as retinol in erasing fine lines and improving skin tone, and it could be a great option for those who find retinoids too harsh. Our new Phyto-Collagen Restorative Cream and the Intense Renewal Eye Cream contain Bakuchiol to stimulate collagen and address signs of aging.
Tips for using retinoids:
- Retinoids can make your skin more photosensitive, so use retinoids only at night.
- Make sure you use a broad-spectrum SPF during the day to protect your skin.
- If you’re new to retinoids, start with a gentle option and use it every second or third night before gradually building up to nightly use.
- Use a moisturizer after retinoids to prevent irritation and lock in hydration.
