Benefits of face oils

African Botanics collection of biocompatible face oils work to deliver a multitude of skin-boosting benefits

  • Increase skin suppleness
  • Encourage a more refined texture
  • Plump fine lines and wrinkles
  • Diminish dullness
  • Regulate sebum production
  • Reduce inflammation, sensitivity, and redness

Marula oil for face care

The heart of our face oil range is powered by the extraordinary Marula oil.

Bursting with skin- benefiting micronutrients and essential fatty acids, especially Omega 9, Marula is brimming with antioxidants making it one of the best face oils for all skin types.

The protective and regenerative properties of Marula oil can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, soothe redness and sensitivity and helps prevent free radical damage.

We source this nutrient-rich oil from socially and environmentally responsible producers.

Baobab Oil for face care

Baobab oil is our other star. Baobab’s protecting and regenerating properties improve skin tone and elasticity while softening skin and helping heal any imperfections.

A natural multi-tasker, Baobab’s high concentration of vitamins A, D3, F, K, and E, work to renew cell membranes and stimulate collagen production.

Alongside Maurla, Baobab is one of the best oils for face care.

Face oil for sebum regulation

Oil-skin types shouldn’t shy away from using facial oil. The right face oil for oily skin can aid in regulating overactive sebum production to balance and reduce signs of congestion, blemishes and acne.

Should you choose a face oil or cream-based moisturizer?

Moisturizers and face oils both serve to hydrate and moisturize the skin, but they work in slightly different ways.

Moisturizers are typically water-based and work by hydrating the skin, while face oils restore and seal in moisture.

As a general guide, dry, mature and sensitive skin types can benefit from using both a moisturizer and a face oil, particularly during winter or in dry environments.

Normal, combination and acne-prone skin may find face oil sufficiently moisturizing and nourishing on its own.

When to apply facial oil in your routine

Facial oil should be the final step in your routine:

Cleanser > serum > moisturizer > facial oil OR Cleanser > serum > facial oil
